ULGC MARCH ON WASHINGTON REENACTMENT
Cleveland’s 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington (MOW) for Jobs & Freedom will begin with a symbolic march at 10:30 am commencing at Willard Park… right outside of the FREE Stamp on Lakeside Avenue. MOW will include remarks from area inter-generational civic leaders followed by a march from across St. Clair Avenue, Ontario then return to Willard Park. Organizations may also bring signs indicating the names of their affiliations. Parking will be available in the Willard Park Garage, City Hall, 601 Lakeside Avenue. UBIZ Venture Capital Honors Successful Black Entrepreneurs as it Launches The Business Growth Institute with $500,000 in Funding from JPMorgan Chase & Co.
UBIZ Venture Capital in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Cleveland is excited to host the Business Legacy Award Reception and launch of the Business Growth Institute, Tuesday November 1, 2022, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse starting at 5:00p. The Legacy Award honorees are:
• Lonnie Coleman, President and CEO of the Coleman Spohn Corp.
• Mel Pye, President and CEO of Fairfax Place
• Tony Smith (posthumously) and his wife Vanessa L. Whiting, the CEO of A.E.S. Management Corp.
• Tilmon Brown, the Chairman of Norwalk, Ohio-based, New Horizons Baking Co.
The Business Growth Institute is an initiative to sustain legacy Black businesses in our community with 20 years+ or is a second-generation business with $5million or more in revenue annually. The Institute will also develop more Black owned businesses in high growth sectors, such as renewable energy, software development, and advanced manufacturing with the potential to do $1million in revenue or more each year.

ULGC/UBIZ Venture Capital Restaurant Accelerator Program Graduation Celebration
On Monday, June 13, you'll get a taste of how 24 of Cleveland's Black restaurant owners are benefiting from over $250,000 in grants through the Urban League of Greater Cleveland (ULGC) and UBIZ Venture Capital's Black Restaurant Accelerator Program (BRAP). A celebration program will be held at the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, 2930 Prospect Avenue (East), Cleveland, Ohio 44115. The program begins promptly at 5:00 p.m. (doors open at 4:45 p.m.) Graduation ends at 7:30 p.m. In addition to local and national guest speakers, the program will include a sample showcase of graduates’ menu items. BRAP is an interactive series of virtual classes that provided technical assistance, entrepreneurial coaching, and training on various business-related topics.

ULGC HUD STRONG FAMILIES EVENT
The CMHA HUD Strong Families events are designed to empower families with resources to ensure positive opportunities. ESS SOAR TRAINING BEGINS
The Urban League of Greater Cleveland (ULGC) and OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County (OMJ|CC) have launched a new pilot project, Enhancing Skills for Success (ESS), a free collaborative workforce program offering soft skills development and training via mobile phones with interactive videos and instruction. The ESS program is actively recruiting candidates who are ready to invest time in transforming their lives and improving their quality of life in the Cuyahoga – Cleveland area.
