President/CEO

From Marsha Mockabee, President/CEO

Welcome to the newly designed website for the Urban League of Greater Cleveland!  We are hopeful that during your tour through the site, you will see that we are not only operational, but that we are making positive steps each day in the process of re-building.  In this serious season of economic downturn, the constituents that we serve need our services more than ever.

One of our goals for the next 6-months is to launch an aggressive marketing campaign to ensure that the Urban League name and brand are well recognized in our community.  To further disseminate the message of “who we are and what we do” we invite you to view the weekly broadcast of Kaleidoscope, the weekly public affairs program on TV5.  The Urban League is a partner on the broadcast, along with TV5 and Kaleidoscope Magazine.  In addition to viewing Kaleidoscope, we also invite you to visit us on our Facebook page.  You will also find additional videos about the Urban League on YouTube.

In addition to the impactful direct service programs provided by the League, we are also involved in many important community collaborations designed to assist African Americans and other minorities.  During the first quarter of 2010, we have been honored to be a part of Councilman Zack Reed’s Haiti Relief Fund event, held on February 27th at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  On March 11th, we participated on a panel for the first Town Hall meeting for the State of Black America sponsored by Frasernet.  As a result of this Town Hall meeting, we will be working with the NAACP and United Pastors in Mission to conduct community forums associated with the upcoming County Government elections.

Please make sure to visit the website often and check out our calendar of events to see how you can stay connected.  Until next time, pass the word that your Urban League is at work in our community.  Every donation/membership increases the assurance of our continued contributions to this great community.  Won’t you contribute today?
